    Salaam how are yu hope your well.. as a child black eyed beans was handi my nani would make nd I loved it.. I tried your recipe but didnt work as the beans were still hard.. I think it could have been because I used packet beans instead of tin soaked ones.. can yu help x

      Ws, thanks for trying my recipe. I use tinned black eyes beans which have already been cooked. The packet ones have to soaked and boiled before cooking which is why they were still hard. Hope that helps.

    Can it be cooked without cream?

      It is better with the cream, but it can be left out.

    This looks amazing I’m going to try this on Saturday inshallah, but I want to make the cake exactly like your recipe. I’m just unsure about step 2 you mention, ‘In a large bowl cream the sugar and margarine together and pale’. What do you mean by pale? Jazak’Allah in advance x

      Thank you! When you beat them together for a few mins it will turn into a pale creamy/yellow colour. Thats when you know its beaten well.

    Salaam sister, I am a big fan and try most of your recipes. I am baking this cake today for my son’s birthday (he is also a massive fan) and said “I want the mazadaar chocolate cake lol for my birthday”. I just noticed one thing, you left out the baking powder from the method. It was actually my son who realised as I was just about to empty the batter into the cake tins. Just thought u might like to know.

    Should i still add the cream and cheese if i am not baking it (I can’t put cheese as some in the home don’t agree with it)
