Channa Pilau

Simple, fragrant and filling. I have been making this pilau recipe for years and it is loved by all when I make it.

We usually have this pilau with raita, curry or with tikkis and kebabs. There are lots of pilau recipes and I will be sharing more soon. But for now, here is the step by step recipe for my channa pilau.

What you need;

3 cups of rice (I use a tea mug)
3 onions sliced
1/4 cup oil
5 cloves garlic crushes
1/2 inch ginger crushed
3 tomatoes
1 tbsp Kashmiri mild chilli powder
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 stick of cinnamon
5 whole cloves
1/2 tsp whole black pepper
2 black cardamoms
3 chicken stock cubes
1 tin of chickpeas drained
4 cups of water (use the same mug you used to measure the rice with)
